The Bridgeport Portrait Project

Opening reception on Tuesday, January 17th from 5-7pm in the Burt Chernow Galleries The Bridgeport Portrait Project is a cultural heritage project that combines documentary-style photography and storytelling. It is a little bit current events mixed with a little history. Jay Misencik and Geralene Valentine have photographed more than 175 people who all have a connection to Bridgeport, Connecticut. Along with taking their photo portrait, Misencik and Valentine give each participant an opportunity to tell their story. The Bridgeport Portrait Project began in 2014 and is ongoing.
