Ink and Impressions: 110 Years of the Society of American Graphic Artists

Yuke Li. "Tiny Issue." Etching, hard ground, chine collé, 2023.

The Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) is a non-profit organization established in 1915. Our mission is to promote contemporary printmakers, cultivate printmaking appreciation and education, and offer a collaborative and inclusive platform for artists across the country.

This year, SAGA celebrates its 110th anniversary in the spirit of its fifth generation of printmakers by showcasing the diversity and daring of its members’ art making- past and present. Marking the 90th annual exhibition of members’ work, the show features 150 hand-pulled prints representing a broad range of techniques and subjects, created by SAGA artists from 30 states. SAGA artists intrepidly explore all styles and printmaking media, including intaglio, wood engraving, linocut, photogravure, lithography, silkscreen, mokuhanga, and many more.

Through the extraordinary prints that we share in our annual show, we extend a warm invitation to art-lovers and art-makers to engage in conversation about printmaking as an accessible and inclusive platform for artistic expression.

Free and open to the public.
