Media Advisory: Save the Date for "Ink and Impressions: 110 Years of the Society of American Graphic Artists"

(Bridgeport, CT) — The Housatonic Museum of Art is proud to present Ink and Impressions: 110 Years of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA), a landmark national exhibition celebrating the legacy and innovation of American printmaking. Featuring 160 hand-pulled prints by artists from across more than 30 states, this anniversary showcase honors SAGA’s 110-year history and 90 years of annual exhibitions. A free and festive opening reception with participating artists and appetizers will take place on September 10th commemorating the diversity and daring nature of contemporary and historical printmakers.

DETAILS

The exhibition, Ink and Impressions, will be on view September 10, 2025 through February 13, 2026. SAGA artists past and present will be represented, including works by legendary printmakers such as Anne Chernow, Ruth Leaf, Isabel Bishop, and Rafael Soyer. Prints range across intaglio, wood engraving, lithography, mokuhanga, and more.

Programs span both in-person and virtual experiences, juried awards, and an illustrated catalog. This vibrant exhibition invites collectors, educators, and art lovers to celebrate the rich tradition and bold future of American printmaking.
